Conflict between Iran and "the West" began in 1953 with the post-war U.K.'s attempt to retain oil resources, destabilizing Iran's fledgling Constitutional democracy.
This weekend's events—the escalation of that conflict and the continued destabilization of international order—are symptoms of a world losing its grip on the systems that sustain us. Instead of working to empower and improve the world's single greatest resource for peace - the United Nations - the current administration in Washington is pursuing a unilateral path of "Disruptive Deterrence" that prioritizes immediate strikes over long-term stability, we are witnessing the tragic result: fear, suffering, and a global "supply shock" that threatens every household even here in Colorado.
As your candidate for Governor, I believe we must address two hard truths that the political establishment is ignoring:
1. War is a Climate Accelerator
Every missile launched and every carrier strike group deployed represents a massive, unaccounted-for spike in the very "legacy" carbon that is pushing us toward the 450 ppm tipping point. When we choose war, we aren't just choosing death in the present; we are accelerating the extinction events of the future. We cannot "drill our way" out of a geopolitical crisis without permanently scarring our atmosphere.
2. Fear is Not a Policy
The current climate of global anger and destabilization makes long-term planning impossible. Families cannot plan for careers, and students cannot plan for futures, when the news cycle is a constant drumbeat of conflict and economic volatility. Colorado needs a leader who offers a scientific anchor—a mission that transcends the immediate chaos.
The Path Forward: The SkyCarbon Pivot
Our campaign’s Interstate SkyCarbon Blueprint is the only plan that offers a way back to global and environmental stability. By focusing on Direct Atmospheric Carbon Removal (DACR), we move from a "Defensive" posture (fighting over oil and borders) to an "Offensive" mission: Atmospheric Reclamation.
Energy Sovereignty: By building modular DACR hubs powered by our own renewable grid, we insulate Colorado from the "Hormuz Chokehold" and the volatility of Middle Eastern oil.
Economic Purpose: Instead of a "Fear Economy," we propose a Carbon Renaissance. We will put our veterans, our displaced energy workers, and our graduates to work mining the sky for the carbon that will build the infrastructure of the next century.
The "Next Normal": While the world shifts to a "new normal" of instability, Colorado can lead the way in creating a "next normal" of restoration.
